I.S.T.D. Ballet
The I.S.T.D ballet syllabus is specially created to test the dancer’s knowledge. It also encourages a strong technique. However, for a young child starting dance, enjoyment is very important. Therefore, Class Examinations and Performance Awards are ideal for dancers attending classes for recreational purposes. Alternatively, for children wishing to study in greater depth, there are the more technically demanding Grade Examinations. Regardless, whether for fun or long term study, steady build up and safe practice are of great importance.
This syllabus is recognised by all the top Dance and Performing Arts colleges. It is QCF recognised. If you want to find out more about I.S.T.D. Ballet, you can click here!

Imperial Classical Ballet is based on the teaching of the French School at the Paris Opéra. The syllabus evolved to promote the English classical ballet style and address the changing needs of ballet dancers today. It focuses on encouraging a sound basic technique and an understanding of musical interpretation. I.S.T.D. Ballet provides the essentials of pure classical training.
The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing is one of the world’s leading dance examination boards. It has the widest range of dance genres available. ISTD is a registered educational charity which supports and trains our members through a wide variety of courses, teaching syllabi and techniques.
